I am starting a new endeavor within my swimming "career", Something I never thought I would do. I am becoming an OFFICIAL!
A friend of mine who started a new club team needs some officials on record in order to host meets. Without him even asking, I said "ok, what do I need to do". I have a love for the sport and a love for helping others, so that got me into a position I never imagined. I have completed the online training and have completed some of the mandatory sessions as an "apprentice", with one more to go, which I will complete next month.
Do I have the time to VOLUNTEER as an official? No, I am not in a position to volunteer, but as an entrepreneur- I know what it is like to need help. I know that building a business and a career takes relationships, help from others and sacrifice. I am hoping that the "entrepreneur gods" see that I am helping others on their path and will bless me some time along the way when I need help. I know it is not easy to ask for help or to rely on others, but its how we succeed and we should not stray away from receiving support.
Are you supportive of your friends or family that are working towards a big goal? Do you encourage them? Help them when they look like they could use a helping hand?
As much as I feel like there is no time for helping others with the 3 jobs I juggle, I find the time for what I feel is important. I hope you do too.
