It is TIME!

US Olympic Trials started today! It is almost more exciting than the Olympics (in my opinion) to see who will make the US Olympic Team. I am lucky enough to head to Indianapolis on Wednesday with a group of 26 teenage athletes from a couple different local club teams. I went in 2004 when it was outside in Long Beach, CA and in 2008 when it was in Omaha, NE and now it is in a pro football stadium in Indy! To all my non-swimming friends, the idea that the pool is a temporary pool which will be broken down and sold is unfathomable.

While in Indy, we will be staying in the dorms at UIndy and eating at their cafeteria. I hope I do not have flashbacks to my dorm days, haha. But this is a great (and cost effective way) to take a group and also give them a sneak peak into dorm life. We will be alternating between swim practices for the swimmers and watching prelims and finals of Trials. Fun Fact- UIndy is where my conference championships were my freshman year of college.

While we are in Indy, I will be giving two small mindset talks to the athletes. One will be about taming their inner critic and the other will be based on checking in on their goals for the season, since we are about one month out from long course championship season.

Maybe in 2028- I will be going to Olympic Trials to see them swim?? Who knows!

Enjoy the Process and Dream Big!
